Need to purchase cheap cruise tickets from Galveston, Texas to Caribbeans?

Can you answer doubleA’s question about Cruises?:

My boyfriend and I are wanting to go on a cruise sometime in August and I really need a website where I can find the cheapest cruise tickets. We will have to depart from Galveston, Texas and will go to the Caribbeans. We are not picky about the cruise line as long as it is decent. Does anyone have suggestions?

Cruises Feedback: I use a site(www.tripschedule.com). It has a “Cruise Sites” section on the left hand side near the bottom that
links to the some cruise sites, but they also have a travel search engine.
Otherwise you can find cruise deals on the specific cruise lines like Carnival, Celebrity, etc.

Cruises Feedback: The only cruise line out of Galveston in August is Carnival. Royal Caribbean is only there in the winter. Travel agents will often discount cruises for their customers, so you might want to start with them. Cruisecritic.com is a wealth of information about each line and how to get the best deal.

Cruises Feedback: You can check out or ring Carnival directly.

Galveston is a popular market and you won’t likely find any deep discounts on the cruises departing from that port.

The Carnival Ecstasy offers 4 and 5 day cruises starting at $429 for August departures.

The Carnival Conquest offers 7 day cruises starting at $649 for August departures.
**Notable, the teaser rates you see on the web are for the smallest cabins which may not be available this close to sailing.

Make sure your travel agent/planner quotes you all of the port fees, taxes and fuel surcharge in any quote they provide you.

Also, to save money when departing from the Port of Galveston, use Lighthouse Parking instead of parking at the cruise terminal. If you book online, you can save $25 per car using Lighthouse.

We have been on both the Ecstasy and the Conquest and highly recommend the Conquest. She is a larger ship with more amenities and a smoother ride.

Cruises Feedback: You can try this website to compare prices:

    Here’s what I found

    Ecstasy Western Caribbean 4 nights departing Aug 28th $429 - $529 pp

Ecstasy Western Caribbean 5 nights departing Aug 23rd
    $479 - $549

Other dates are available on the Ecstacy, but these were the least expensive.

    Conquest 7 night Western Caribbean
    departing August 24th and August 31st - $649 & up

    Hope this helps!
