How could cruise companies donate uneaten food to charity?

Can you answer Melissa N’s question about Cruises?:

So much food is wasted on cruises every year..
Maybe cruise companies can start donating wasted food at ports?
What’s wrong with donating the food at the port areas for human consumption?

If it’s going to be thrown out anyway, why not?

Cruises Feedback: Food donations are very well needed, but places like restaurants, stores, etc have had this issue, because of the liability of it all. What ifs are all present-

Check with a local supermarket that you know who donates, and see how they went about it. Also, check with a local church that may be doing community luncheons-these people together have a wealth of information, and that could help you start something new! pay it forward!

Good luck with this-you are looking into a wonderful thing. Now you just need to move the wheel.
